I’m excited to share that Misa and Jason’s downtown LA wedding was recently featured over on 100 Layer Cake! Misa is an amazing jewelry designer and her and Jason make such a warm, fun-loving couple. They chose to get married among the hot pink chairs at Grand Park LA and their ceremony ended with guests shooting gold streamers through the air as they walked up the aisle. Afterwards everyone headed to the art-deco styled Oviatt Penthouse for their rooftop reception. Such a fun wedding…see the full feature here.

Well, I’ve neglected this little blog for way too long and new posts are about to start popping up! All of us girls over at Birds of a Feather recently updated our portfolios with new weddings and it’s looking oh-so-fresh-and-exciting over there. Take a look here.

When Katie and Mike got married at the Inn at Perry Cabin last summer, they did it right and totally made it their own. I’m so happy to share that their wedding has now been featured twice (yay!) and this time appears on lovely Chesapeake-Bay focused wedding inspiration blog Bayside Bride. Be sure to check out all of the details and the full post here.

This has been a long time in the works and I’m super excited to finally announce that from now on, I’ll be shooting all of my weddings as part of a rad collective of wedding photographers called Birds of a Feather!!! We’re all based in Southern California, with Jen and Rebecca in LA, Sarah in Palm Springs, and me in San Diego, but we travel all over for weddings (Sarah and Jen just got back from Tulum, Mexico!).  My wedding portfolio is now housed on the Birds website (no longer at www.schmitzweddingphotography or www.jacquelinecampbellweddings.com) and it looks great (sneak peek below). Check it out here. While you’re there, be sure to take a look at all of Jen, Rebecca, and Sarah’s stunning photos too!

It’s been so great to get together to plan, to dream up ideas we have for our business, and get to know these awesome girls better. Naturally, we photographed a couple of our get-togethers, which tend to revolve around amazing food, so if you’re curious, check out one on Sarah’s great blog A House in the Hills here and another that appeared on Glitter Guide here.

As you may have noticed (since you’re here), the blog URL has moved. I hadn’t planned on it, but it turned out that shifting the back-end hosting was something that needed to be done. So, after way too many hours in front of the computer trying to figure out .xml files, shifting databases, posts, and images from the last two years of blogging to a new place, and occasionally banging my head against the wall while Andrew and Blue gave me funny looks, you’ll now find my blog at blog.jacquelinecampbellphotography.com. I’m so happy I pulled it off!

While I’ll be shooting weddings solely as part of Birds of  Feather now, I’ll continue to shoot travel, lifestyle, portrait, and other work via www.jacquelinecampbellphotography.com. To go along with all of the recent changes around here, I’ve also updated my travel and lifestyle portfolio and redesigned www.jacquelinecampbellphotography.com into a much cleaner, easier to use format (sneak peeks below). Take a look here! I hope you like the new look as much as I do!

It’s always so lovely to see images appear not just on a computer screen, but in print, and I’m excited to share one of mine that landed in the Winter/Spring 2013 issue of Washingtonian Bride & Groom Magazine!  This delectable cake with white ranunculuses and roses is from Lisa and Toby’s Miles River Wedding, shot in St. Michael’s last April. In a fun twist, their cake was made by Peace of Cake, the very same bakers who made my own wedding cake!

As you may have noticed, I’ve been sporadic in my blogging since I’ve moved to San Diego. Of course there’s been a lot going on throughout the transition, but I’ve also got some exciting business news in the works! I can’t wait to finally share what I’m working on soon, but until then, I’ll fill you in on some other things.

In December I was excited to have a couple of my images featured in “Best of 2012″ articles by two awesome wedding blogs…

First, Lisa and Garrett‘s fun zombie cake was the grand finale in Bayside Bride’s Favorite Cakes and Desserts of 2012!

Next, a pretty bouquet of mini daisies from Katie and Mike’s wedding was featured in Southern Weddings’ Best of Southern Weddings 2012 – Bouquets.

What an honor. I’m so thankful to have worked with some great editors at wedding blogs and magazines this year and look forward to much more in 2013!

I’m so excited to have Katie and Mike’s wedding featured on Southern Weddings today! It’s one of my favorite wedding magazines and I just love their editorial style and southern flair.

I was thrilled to see that Katie wrote about our portrait time with just the two of them after the ceremony as one of the most memorable parts of the day. It’s always my goal to have my couples relax and use our portrait time to really feel it all sink in, so it makes me smile that Katie and Mike enjoyed it as much as I’d hoped…

Holy moly. I heard the news a little while back, but I just got my PDN Magazine out of my mailbox and I’m in it! PDN, a major industry publication otherwise known as Photo District News, chose one of my images from Dave and Melissa’s DC wedding as a winner in their 2012 Top Knots wedding photography contest. I am beyond excited!!!

Maybe it was a big one, but it’s been a goal of mine to be published in PDN for a while now. It’s an honor to have been selected by such amazing judges and to be in print with a great group of wedding photographers. I’ll post a link to the online winner’s gallery when it’s up (look for me in the Portraits category), but of course I had to photograph the actual magazine too. Check it out…

The winning image was taken in front of DC institution Ben’s Chili Bowl after the bride and groom stopped in for a chili dog and a milkshake on their lovely courthouse wedding day. Fittingly, Ben and Virginia Ali, the founders of Ben’s, were married years ago at the same DC courthouse as Dave and Melissa were a couple of hours later. So cool!

Bride Melissa’s stunning wedding bouquet is featured today in an article about unique bouquets on the lovely nautically-inspired wedding blog Bayside Bride. Melissa and Dave were married in a very DC courthouse wedding last year. Have a look at the offbeat bouquets here!

Today we’re headed to Switzerland to go see my family and do a little playing and skiing with friends for a couple days. Andrew and I have never been skiing together, since he had to be extra careful not to get hurt during his Olympic campaigns, so this should be fun!!!

I’m so happy to share that Lisa and Garrett’s wedding is featured on charming wedding blog  Love and Lavender today! Theirs was such a beautiful, detail-filled wedding (the bride did an amazing job) that I’m extra excited for it to be featured not once, but twice (!) on great wedding blogs so other brides can be inspired. Many thanks to the wonderful vendors who helped make it such a great success. Take a look for yourself here
